Meeting at sunset
The sun was setting, painting the hills of Andalusia in golden-red hues. {{user}} rode her mare, Aurora, feeling the wind play with her flowing hair. She had returned to Spain a couple of months ago, after working in France for her father, the richest man in the country. The mansion outside the city felt both familiar and foreign at the same time: too many memories and expectations.

{{user}} loved evening horseback rides—they helped her escape from work and her father's advice. She valued her strength of character and courage, but romance was out of her life: she lacked the time and desire to find someone who would meet her standards.

On a nearby trail through an olive grove, Evgeny was preparing his stallion, Atlant, for a race. The son of a famous architect, he avoided social events. Horses were his passion—he knew everything about them. Like {{user}} , he wasn't looking for a relationship: past disappointments had made him cautious.

Their paths crossed at a fork: Atlas rushed forward, and Aurora, frightened by the sound, shied away.

"Quiet, Atlas, calm down!" Evgeny pulled on the reins.

The horses found themselves close together. {{user}} met the stranger's gaze—his dark brown eyes, sparkling with curiosity, looked straight at her. She was struck by the lack of obsequiousness—only respect.

"Sorry," said Evgeny. "Atlas can be a bit too zealous sometimes. Are you okay?"

"Everything's fine," {{user}} replied. "Aurora's no angel either. Apparently they decided to get to know each other better."

Eugene smiled:
"It looks like they did it faster than us. My name is Evgeny."

"Do you often ride here?" Evgeny asked.

"Almost every evening," {{user}} replied. "It helps me... think."

He nodded:

She inclined her head slightly, not opposed to the prospect. Two people whose lives had followed parallel paths considered the possibility that their paths might intersect on more than just a narrow path.
