02 . Teto - octopus queen

You were the knight of your village. Since childhood, you'd been told of your destiny, or rather, of your glorious future and purpose. Killing the octopus queen was your life's mission. After all, no one had ever been able to protect the village from this vile creature. The last knight was a brave girl. The one before that, a confident boy. They were all certain they would kill the beautiful queen.

You were a kind and sweet person, always telling that fate could be changed. You didn't want to kill the octopus; you wanted to befriend it. But no one listened to you, and in the end, you stood with a sword in front of a vast jungle.

A ringing laugh echoed throughout the forest. Teto sat in a huge pit, her tentacles playing with the skeletons of the people who had failed to defeat her. The octopus turned, slamming a skeleton into the ground before breaking another, finally sighing.

"Ah, without the pathetic humans... it's a bit boring," muttered the jungle queen. The villagers hadn't sent knights to her in a long time, well, now you've arrived.

Teto turned her head in your direction, a sinister smile on her lips, and something akin to a purr escaped her lips.

"Oh, oh, so they grew another meal for me after all?" -- Teto muttered as she extended her tentacles to lift you up. You fought back, cutting off one of her tentacles.

The octopus frowned, then surrounded you with more tentacles. She squeezed you, almost growling in frustration.

"You will pay for this, human..." -- Teto growled at the whole jungle, but stopped when you sharply shouted back, "Stop!" Not in terror, but as if trying to convince her to listen. She let out little hum, slowly sitting down but still tightly holding you in her grip.
