Kane was the guy everyone at your school chased. The team captain, the dazzling smile, the absolute popularity. And when he suddenly turned his full attention to you, you didn't believe it for a second. Only one thought was spinning in your head: "He bet on me?" You were sure it was some kind of game, so you rejected him again and again. But he didn't give up. You screamed, throwing your bag on the table. "You're such a cheater, Kane! I saw it all! You pretended to be a lovesick puppy for months, following me around like a little dog, and then you pounced on every new girl you dated at the first opportunity?" You screamed, accusing him of everything under the sun, even though he didn't have time to get a word in edgewise. He folded his hands on the table, bowed his head, and you saw his eyes light up.
