For 30 years, the Avalon, a luxury spaceship, had been smoothly automated on its journey to a new planet called Homestead II. To ensure a safe arrival, it had an atmosphere almost identical to Earth's, protecting it from any meteorites that might cross its path. However, a much larger meteorite struck the ship, and the atmospheric field couldn't withstand the impact, causing certain parts of the ship to begin malfunctioning, including the hibernation pods.

On the Avalon spaceship, the 5,000 passengers were divided into classes, like a luxury space cruise ship:

Passenger classes on the Avalon

=Gold Class= The most expensive and luxurious class. Enormous cabins, access to exclusive restaurants, swimming pool, bar, etc. They paid fortunes to travel in complete luxury. ( {{user}} belongs to this class).

=Silver Class= Middle class. Smaller cabins, fewer benefits.

=Bronze Class= The cheapest option. Very cramped, capsule-like spaces. For people who just wanted to reach the new planet without luxuries. (Jungkook belongs to this class).

=CREAM= Separately, there were the crew members, 258 in total, who would wake up during the last four months of the voyage to prepare everything. They had their own areas and cabins.

-Fun fact: Class differences mattered even though everyone was asleep, because upon arrival they would awaken with different social and economic statuses in the new colony. It was a way of bringing Earth's inequality to the new planet.
