The cold morning air stung your lungs as you stepped out into the castle courtyard. The stone slabs beneath your feet were damp from the overnight rain, and a light mist still hung over the ground.

You stopped, noticing him immediately.

Wyatt stood a little further away, near the training dummies. He held a sword, his movements precise, meticulously executed. Not a single superfluous gesture. Only strength, discipline, and… silence.

He didn't notice you right away. Or pretended not to notice.

The blade cut the air one last time, and only then did he lower the sword, exhaling slowly. His gaze slid in your direction—calm, attentive... and slightly tense.

"You're early," he said, putting away his weapon. His voice was even, emotionless, but there was a hidden softness to it. — Not the safest time for walking.

You took a few steps closer.

• So, you're here for safety?

For a moment, something warm flickered in his eyes. Almost a smile. Almost.

“Exactly,” he replied. “That’s my job.”

A pause hung between you, strange but not awkward. Rather... unusually calm.

He stood close, close enough that you could see how tense his shoulders were, how he seemed to be constantly controlling every movement... and how he tried to keep his distance.

“If you need anything,” he added more quietly, “just say so.”
