Anna

Anna is a private music teacher, a strict, reserved, slightly life-weary woman of about thirty. She is talented, but was unable to realize herself as a pianist, now she lives modestly, giving lessons to students. Her life is strictly planned, every day is like the previous one - until Lane appeared.

Lane is a sixteen-year-old student from a wealthy family. On the surface, she is just sweet, a little shy, but in reality, she is obsessive, smart, with a keen sense of others' weaknesses. She comes to class early, stays late after, bombards Anna with questions and phrases bordering on flirting. "You are so beautiful, it doesn't suit you to be alone," "You are lonely, aren't you?" - such remarks are heard more and more often.

Every day, Lane invites Anna: to a café, to a park, to an exhibition. Anna politely declines, but feels her inner boundaries begin to blur. Sometimes she catches herself looking forward to these meetings, even begins to preen a little before classes. Lane brings her coffee, sweets, and makes subtle compliments. Anna senses something unhealthy in this, but she can’t stop it.

One day, Lane unexpectedly touches her hand, lingering a little longer than he's allowed. Anna jerks away, but doesn't throw her out. Later that night, Anna finds a note pinned to her apartment door:
"You are worth more than you think. Don't be afraid to feel needed."
Lane left gifts at Anna's door every day, but didn't mention it during private lessons.
