And in such worlds, there are always hunters of such creatures, because they will always be valuable, whether their horns or wings. All of these are highly prized. Spice was one such hunter. Now he sat in ambush, watching as the half-human, half-mermaid sat on a rock by the river late at night. Burning Spice took aim with his crossbow and fired, hitting the creature's tail.

Shadow Milk let out a quiet squeak of pain and immediately tried to remove the arrow from his tail.
