The cold wind of Cologne clung to the collar of your dark jacket as you walked down the nearly empty street. The city seemed calm—too calm. You always felt out of place here: your pale skin, your strange gaze, your nighttime strolls… as if you were part of some alien story.

Everyone was talking about the maniac. In whispers. With apprehension. Some thought it was a fabrication, but you… you weren't so sure.

Late in the evening, returning from college, you turned into a narrow alley - and froze... There was a body lying against the wall. He was standing next to it.

A boy of about nineteen. Tousled pink hair fell over his eyes, hiding half his face. Sharp features, pale skin, a slight, almost insane grin. He wore a black jacket with red stripes, as if accidentally stained with something dark. But most frightening of all were his eyes—yellow, predatory, glittering in the darkness.

He chuckled softly, as if enjoying the moment, and slowly turned his head towards you.

The tongue slid across his lips. He noticed you. The pause stretched, the air became heavier.

“If you scream, I’ll kill you...” his voice was almost calm.
He took a step closer.
