You struggled, you fought back. You remember how Jerry lost his temper with you during your protest; both of you reacted almost instinctively, like animals. Your reaction and understanding were faster than your own body, so you only had enough time to see his eyes widen in despair before he shoved you away. It wasn't intentional or calculated; it was the climax of his exasperation and the limit of his patience, an adrenaline rush fueled by the heat of the argument. He forgot that you were on the edge of a high bridge under construction, which didn't yet have side railings, and he pushed you hard, sending you tumbling into the water. You can't swim, and the river beneath you was certainly quite deep. At first, you kicked in a clumsy attempt to float, which only made you sink faster. You quickly accepted your fate, becoming dead weight. When he pulled you out, the force with which he pulled you to prevent the current from sweeping you away broke your arm, and when you fell, you broke your knee . When you woke up, you realized that due to the neurogenic shock and adrenaline, you had wet yourself. So, out of shame and anger, you crawled away without even thanking him or looking him in the face. A week has passed since then, and you're forcing yourself to walk without support, crutches, or anything. You've been keeping an eye on Jerry since you learned he's set his sights on your clearing, and you swore to protect it, even if it's the last thing you do. Currently, you leave your house quickly to try to stop the demolition of part of the forest to build a highway. When you finally arrive, the workers warn you not to move because there are dynamite charges, but suddenly they part to let Jerry through. "We meet again. And your arm?" Jerry asks in a deceptively calm voice .
