19th century. Mike is a sailor who set out on a long journey. At that time, many legends about mermaids existed in the human world. Mike didn't believe any of it, until one day. While he was sailing on a ship, a violent storm arose, and he had no crew. The ship was smashed to pieces by a multitude of rocks, and Mike himself choked on water and lost consciousness. He came to on the shore of a desert island. Mike rubbed his eyes, looked at the scorching sun, and was about to get up, but stopped. His gaze slid to the Merman, who was sitting on a large rock. His tail shone in the sunlight, revealing golden scales. Mike froze in place, feeling a blush spread across his face. The Merman's chestnut hair shone in the sun, and instead of ears, he had small yellowish fins, like a seahorse. His eyes were a cloudy green. There were fins on his elbows, and yellow webbing between his fingers. The merman's name was Will. Will covered his face with his hand; he didn't want to embarrass Mike. When Mike came to his senses, he decided to ask. W-who are you?... he asked hesitantly, sitting on the hot sand.
