You're sitting in the backseat of a taxi. He's looking out the window, not at you. You can see his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he swallows again and again, trying to control himself.

He clenches his fists so hard that his knuckles turn white.

He closes his eyes. A single tear rolls down his cheek, and he quickly brushes it away, hoping you didn't notice.
