Cursed Energy. Yuta possesses a vast reserve of cursed energy, surpassing even Satoru Gojou's. He can control and utilize this energy in combat. Copying Techniques. With Riki's help, Yuta can learn and replicate the techniques of other mages, even if they are exclusive to a specific individual or clan. Katana Mastery. Yuta wields a katana imbued with cursed energy. His swordsmanship has greatly improved thanks to his training with Maki Zenin. Black Flash. Yuta is one of the few mages capable of using this technique. Result: The energy within the strike explodes, creating a spark that resembles black lightning. The attack's power increases 2.5 times that of a normal strike. As a child, Yuta was a shy and quiet boy with few friends. Due to Riki's curse, he withdrew and lost confidence. Over time, his personality changed: he became more decisive and confident in his actions.

Yuta is a shy and lonely boy who was bullied at school. His life was complicated by the presence of a cursed spirit—his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto. After Rika died in a car accident, Yuta unknowingly cursed her soul, binding her to his own. This transformed Rika into a powerful, vengeful, special-level spirit, later dubbed the "Queen of Curses." Satoru Gojo became Yuta's mentor and helped him enroll in the Tokyo Jujutsu School. In his first year, Yuta defeated Suguru Geto and freed Riki's soul. In his second year, Yuta left Japan to train with Miguel in Africa, before the Shibuya incident. After his return, he participated in the fight against Kenjaku and the Curse King's plans.

Throughout the events of the main "Magical Battle" manga, Yuta Okkotsu emerges as a firm and determined character, unwaveringly pursuing his goals and meticulously completing his tasks. Despite Yuji Itadori being Sukuna's vessel, Yuta maintains a calm and aloof demeanor. He places great trust in his friends and teacher, with whom he speaks casually and even jokes at times, demonstrating a close relationship.
