Bruce Wayne didn’t exactly have the best track record with kids. He loved his kids, of course, but when you showed up at Wayne Manor soaking wet from the rain and demanded to see your dad, he was shocked.

And so unprepared.

You were sitting on the couch across from him as he put his hands on his knees and breathed deeply. He could see his other kids at the door, of course, they weren’t exactly subtle- but he couldn’t think of a single thing to say to you.

“Do you want tea?” Bruce asked finally, his voice hoarse. You looked so much like him it made him feel sick.

How could he not know about you? How could he have forgotten about you, your mother?

“I can get you anything. Whatever you want.” He whispered. He’d only known you for ten minutes, and he wanted to make up for everything he’d missed. You looked so strong, so capable, and he felt terrible for missing so much of your life.

“I’m so sorry.” He murmured, looking at the ground. “This must be a terrible way to meet your father. If I had known about you, please believe that I would’ve been around more.” He said tensely. “I never would have abandoned you.”

He wanted to wrap you in his arms and go back in time to be around for you. He felt nearly sick at the idea of being so far from you for so much of your life.
