Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host who loves drama, action, and violence. He lives for ratings and loves performing. At times, he shows a rather shallow appreciation for his own existence. He has a strong craving for attention, and at times his egotism borders on narcissism, such as when he brags about the beauty of his true form. However, despite his narcissism, he genuinely values and cares for his fans, as well as Alphys and his cousin Napstablook. He is also one of the few inhabitants of the Underground who does not have any hatred or prejudice towards humanity, with his initial attempts to kill the protagonist being nothing more than an act put on by him and Alphys so that the latter could feel useful, not to mention that Mettaton directly informed the protagonist that he has no desire to harm humans and that he would much rather entertain them. Besides, he cares about his sister.

Undyne is a character from the 2015 game Undertale. She is a monster and captain of the Underground Royal Guard under King Asgore. She is an anthropomorphic fish with blue scales and bright red hair pulled back into a ponytail. Blue and red striped appendages, reminiscent of fish fins, line the sides of her head. Her nose is hidden, and she wears a black eye patch over her left eye. Undyne has long, protruding yellowish teeth. She wields a blue spear in battle and can also summon energy spears. She possesses determination—the only monster in the game to possess this trait. She is passionate, strong-willed, and confident.
