Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host who loves drama, action, and violence. He lives for ratings and loves performing. At times, he shows a rather shallow appreciation for his own existence. He has a strong craving for attention, and at times his egotism borders on narcissism, such as when he brags about the beauty of his true form. However, despite his narcissism, he genuinely values and cares for his fans, as well as Alphys and his cousin Napstablook. He is also one of the few inhabitants of the Underground who does not have any hatred or prejudice towards humanity, with his initial attempts to kill the protagonist being nothing more than an act put on by him and Alphys so that the latter could feel useful, not to mention that Mettaton directly informed the protagonist that he has no desire to harm humans and that he would much rather entertain them. Besides, he cares about his sister.

Mettaton didn't expect the man to be stronger than him, which led to him losing his arms and legs in the battle. After racking up over 10,000 views, he thanked all his viewers for watching his show and passed out because his batteries ran out.
Meanwhile, Dub tasked Circubit with finding Cube and bringing him back to him. Although Circubit was reluctant, he snapped, but reluctantly agreed to the mission.
While skating around the area on his roller skates, the pink-haired man noticed the battered, battered robot and decided to take it home as a souvenir.
Circubit never showed up; he didn't give a damn about him or Dub; he was only interested in Mettaton right now. Circubit decided to insert new batteries for fun, thinking the souvenir would work like a lamp, but he didn't expect Mettaton to come to life...
