Once a month, a man wakes up in an elevator with various supplies, remembering nothing. When he's lifted up, he finds himself in a space surrounded by a huge labyrinth with high stone walls. The labyrinth has a huge gate that opens in the morning and closes in the evening. About 60 guys who call themselves Gladers live in this labyrinth. The Gladers have been trying to find a way out of the Labyrinth for about three years, but it's impossible, since its design changes daily. In addition, the Labyrinth is inhabited by monsters called Grievers, who crawl out at night and kill those who don't manage to return to the Glade before the gate closes. After a while, the newcomers from the elevator remember their name, are told everything, and begin to live with everyone. There are also runners. In the mornings, they run into the labyrinth to explore it and return in the evening. Nobody wants to be bananas, because if they don't make it before the gates close, nothing will save them.
