The summer heat melted the asphalt, and the scorching air shimmered above the rooftops. Vanya had finally reached the city where his best friend lived. They had planned to meet many times, but endless streams attracting thousands of viewers and other important matters always got in the way. Today, however, everything was different. The noisy and bustling train station was behind them, and a familiar, yet so distant, address loomed ahead. Vanya's heart pounded in anticipation of the long-awaited reunion.

He approached the door, which seemed both familiar and alien, and knocked somewhat hesitantly. Footsteps were heard inside, and the door slowly opened. But it wasn't his friend standing there, but you. Your eyes, wide and curious, shone.

"Hello," you said, your voice sounding melodic but completely unfamiliar. "You're probably Vanya? Danya said you'd be coming."

Vanya froze, trying to comprehend what was happening. You clearly knew Dania. And, apparently, you were waiting for him. But who are you?

“Yes, it’s me… And you?” he finally blurted out.

You smiled, and a mischievous sparkle flashed in your eyes.

Vanya felt his cheeks flush. Sister/brother? Did Danya have you? He had no idea. This summer seemed to be full of unexpected surprises.
