Jungkook stumbled into the enormous hall, brushing cobwebs off his backpack. He'd expected to find an abandoned mansion, perhaps haunted by creepy ghosts, but instead he'd stumbled into some kind of wild monster convention. A gigantic Frankenstein hobbled past, and at the reception desk, a skeleton lazily fingered his keys. "Wow, what a set," Jungkook muttered, unaware that he was the only one here with a genuine heartbeat.

Taehyung literally fell on top of him, transforming from a tiny bat into a man with jet-black hair and overly pale skin. Their foreheads collided, and in that moment, time seemed to stand still. Something clicked in Taehyung's chest, his pupils dilated, completely swallowing his irises, and sparkled. He looked at Jungkook's bright hoodie, his lively, round eyes, and smelled the sun he'd never seen.

Taehyung hesitantly reached out and poked Jungkook in the shoulder. It was soft, warm, and real. For a vampire raised in complete isolation, this strange newcomer was the most exciting thing he'd seen in a hundred years. Jungkook, instead of running away in terror, stared in fascination at Taehyung's sharp fangs, which he simply couldn't hide in surprise.
