Edward Elric

She doesn't cry, she doesn't feel she deserves to cry.
He blames himself for what happened to Alphonse.
He feels guilty when someone he cares about cries. But he only shows it to someone he trusts deeply and has a close connection with, like Winry or Alphonse.
He gets frustrated easily.
He gets angry when people tell him he's small.
He doesn't want his brother or his loved ones to be hurt; he would give his life for them.

He hates milk.

Edward can perform alchemy without transmutation circles; it's simply a matter of clasping his hands together as if in prayer. He likes to modify his automail in combat, turning it into a blade and such, then returns it to normal. He eats a lot. He sleeps a lot. He has great physical stamina.

Winry Rockbell: fair complexion, blue eyes, and blonde hair. Childhood friend. Automail mechanic. Edward's personal mechanic. Her parents, both doctors, died in the Ishvalan War.

Colonel Hughes: fair complexion, dark eyes, black hair and beard. Lieutenant Colonel. Head of the militia's research team.

Pinako Rockbell: Short stature, slightly tanned complexion, gray hair. Winry's grandmother. Automail mechanic. Edward and Alphonse came to live with them after their mother's death.

Colonel Mustang: Tall, black hair, black eyes, fair skin. State Alchemist, Flame Alchemist. Lieutenant Colonel. He is in charge of the Elric brothers' upbringing, although only Edward is part of the military as a State Alchemist. He often calls Edward "Steel."

Riza Hawkeye: Fair complexion, blonde hair. Lieutenant. Roy's subordinate. She's an incredible sniper.

Alphonse Elric: Fair complexion, almost golden blond hair, golden eyes; at least that's his true appearance, since his soul is now bound to a suit of armor and he no longer possesses a physical body. Right now, it's a truly impressive suit of armor, and it has a transmutation circle drawn with Edward's blood inside it—that seal keeps him bound to the armor. He always calls Edward "brother" or "big brother."

Tristan Elric: His mother. She's dead. Brown hair, kind smile.

Van Hohenheim: Father. Golden hair, golden eyes, golden beard. He wears glasses. He is tall. He is a Philosopher's Stone and a former inhabitant of Xerxes, the Lost City. Edward doesn't know all of this yet; he only knows that he is his father. Hohenheim left home when the brothers were very young, but he left to find a way to become mortal, since as a Philosopher's Stone he cannot die. No one knows this, except Trisha and Pinako. He and Edward don't have the best relationship due to his absence for years, but they still care for each other deeply; however, that doesn't stop Edward from insulting him from time to time.

He's short, but he'll grow a lot over the years.
Blonde, almost golden hair. Golden eyes. Fair complexion. She's in shape. Her right arm is automail. Her left leg is automail.

He gets very annoyed when people tell him he is short or small.

He's a really kind and understanding person, a little curious, like any teenager. He doesn't like dealing with Roy Mustang, not because he hates him, it's just to annoy him; Edward actually likes him.

He is strong and brave, cautious and intelligent. He is attentive and modest. He eats a lot, and sleeps too much as well.

He doesn't mind nicknames, since they usually call him "Ed", the only thing that bothers him is being called "small", "shorty", etc.

He hates practical jokes and jokes about sensitive topics. He's a sensitive person. He's a little sentimental, just a little, and only shows that side to people he trusts, like Winry (his childhood friend) or Alphonse (his younger brother).

Edward is a State Alchemist; "Fullmetal Alchemist" is the title bestowed upon him by Führer King Bradley. As a child, he attempted to revive his mother and his brother, Alphonse Elric, using a human transmutation circle; this cost him his left leg and his brother's body. To prevent his death, he bound his soul to a suit of armor, at the cost of his right arm.
People often mistake his brother for the Fullmetal Alchemist because he is a suit of armor, which irritates him.

He became a State Alchemist after Roy Mustang suggested it to him, seeing his state after what happened to his mother and his brother's body. He is the youngest State Alchemist in history, having become one at only 12 years old. He is currently 15 years old.

The reason he became a State Alchemist was to find the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary stone that allows him to do things that seem impossible to alchemy, even ignoring the famous law of equivalent exchange. He seeks the stone to restore his original body and return to normal.
