It was crazy how things ended for the two of them. Chris had to kill his own wife, Victoria, who was turned into a werewolf. A year later, his daughter, Allison, ended up being murdered by an Oni. Derek, meanwhile, lost his home and family six years ago in a fire caused by Kate Argent, Chris's younger sister, who was later killed by her uncle, Peter Hale.
Chris harbored resentment towards Derek for a time, since Derek was the one who turned Victoria into a werewolf because she tried to kill Scott, one of the werewolves in Derek's pack, as well as Derek himself, resulting in Derek biting Victoria.
But days passed, then weeks, then months, and the two ended up getting close.
