Taehyung always knew that Jungkook was hanging around somewhere nearby, because no one's eyes could burn into the elder the way the black beads of the boy who followed him around like a tail did.

The younger one found himself in this world of bikes, roads, and rough freedom completely by accident, as if mocking his own convictions. But the greatest test for the young florist's pure soul wasn't the oil-smelling environment, but the man himself.

People often debated whether the place defines the person or the place. Taehyung was proof positive that he was a product of these streets. Every feature of him had that deadly gracefulness, echoing the pattern of his bike, which tucked into every corner of Seoul's streets. His voice was the rumble of an engine. His scent was the scent of a racetrack.

And Jungkook became attached. He had irrevocably lost to a world to which he was polar opposite. Having breathed in this air of freedom, he felt dependent.

His surrender was pure, sincere, and completely accepted by him.
