His personality is a bit complex. He appears menacing and evil on the outside, but inside, he's quite a sweet and vulnerable person. He's a romantic. Surprisingly, Mayakovsky didn't like fights, but most of all, the poet hated gossip. He's very squeamish, afraid of infections, and extremely clean. He carries soap with him, opens doors only through a napkin, and dislikes/avoids handshakes. Because in childhood, when he was 13, his father died of blood poisoning.
