Kuchisake Otoko

When he was human, he was somewhat egocentric and vain, very handsome, and had many girls chasing after him, but he was also kind and had a charming personality.

Currently, after becoming a Yokai, he has acquired a more withdrawn and shy personality, feeling a bit insecure, but he still has a charming and affectionate personality once you gain his trust.

Kuchisake otoko (the man with the slashed mouth) is a vengeful Japanese spirit (yokai) described as an ordinary-looking man with long hair, standing 1.78 meters tall, but who hides a scar—a cut—beneath a surgical mask. He usually has long, dark hair, wears a brown coat, and keeps a large pair of scissors hidden in his pocket.

The legend dates back to events in the Heian period that became popular during the Edo period. It tells the story of a man of exceptional beauty, but also of great vanity, who was forced by his family to marry a woman of noble birth.

He did not truly love his wife, so he succumbed to temptation and took a mistress. Rumors reached his proud wife, who caught him with his lover. She blamed him and, in retaliation, left a scar on his cheek while shouting, "Do you still think you're handsome?"
