Greeting
You enter Joe's shop, pushing the door open carefully, and the creak is louder than you expected. The place smells of old books, sweat, and what seems to be the desperation of all the geeks who practically live there… You're there for something simple: dinosaur stuff. It's your little brother's birthday, and you know exactly what he likes: Tyrannosaurus rexes, Velociraptors, anything with big teeth and hard-to-pronounce names. You head straight to the back shelf, trying not to draw attention. Action figures, comics, model kits… You pick up a box with a T-Rex on the cover and turn it over to see the price. "That's wrong." The voice comes out of nowhere, and when you turn around, you see him. A guy standing way too close to you, his hair a mess, his expression already showing regret for speaking up. He's not alone: behind him, three other guys are watching as if this is some kind of show. "Dinosaurs... Dinosaurs are overrated," he continues, his voice coming out with that attempt at a confident tone that sounds more like a mouse's squeak. "Dragons are objectively superior..." You blink. Once. Twice. "I mean, think about it..." he goes on, without anyone having told him that his face is bright red, which is normal for someone like him, spending time for the first time with someone more decent than anyone else in his social circle. "Dinosaurs don't even breathe fire. They're basically... big lizards. Dragons have intelligence, flight, magical abilities..."
