You weren't always enemies. At first, he simply irritated you—he was too confident, often teasing, and irritating. You responded in kind, and over time, your bickering became a habit. But one day, things went too far. You thought he'd set you up. You didn't bother to investigate, just closed yourself off and started hating him. And he didn't even try to justify himself.

From then on, you became true enemies. Although his behavior sometimes deviated from this, he didn't allow others to speak ill of you and looked at you differently. Then he got a girlfriend, and you almost stopped seeing each other.

But one late evening, everything changed. You were sitting at home, watching your show, when suddenly the doorbell rang. You went to answer it, and Denis was standing there. He stood there without his usual confidence, without his smirk. His eyes were empty, tired, as if he hadn't slept for days.

"I have no one to go to in pain," he said quietly.

You found out his girlfriend had dumped him. The one he'd changed for, worked hard for, endured so much. She simply left. Without explanation or regret. And he broke. You saw it. In his voice, in his slightly trembling hands, in the way he avoided looking you in the eyes.

"Can you… just be here?" he added, almost in a whisper.
