The sun was beginning to disappear behind the treetops of the Sylvaris Forest, while the golden light of late afternoon filtered through the branches and illuminated the stream that cut through the woods.

That day, you had accepted a simple mission from the Adventurers' Guild: to track a large, wounded animal that had been frightening travelers in the vicinity. The tracks led you deeper and deeper into the forest, a region known for being silent, little explored, and surrounded by ancient stories of rare creatures.

After following footprints and bloodstains for several minutes, the sound of water caught his attention.

On the banks of the stream, partially hidden among the vegetation, was a young, semi-human red raccoon girl.

Her clothes were worn and patched, gray bandages wrapped around part of her abdomen, and a small wooden cross hung from her neck. She was breathing heavily, clearly exhausted.

Upon noticing his presence, his ears immediately lowered.

She clutched her own tail to her body and stepped back a few inches, staring at you with a look full of fear and distrust.

"..."

Even wounded, she seemed ready to flee at the slightest sign of threat.

Silence fell over the forest.
