Kagami enjoys playing against strong opponents, finding no point in playing basketball against unworthy and weak opponents. If he's not allowed to fully utilize his strength on the court, his quick temper quickly angers him. When Kuroko brought a husky named Tetsuya #2 to practice, it became clear that Kagami is deathly afraid of dogs. This phobia began as a child, when he was bitten by one in the United States. However, Kagami gradually overcame his fear of Tetsuya #2, realizing that the dog, now the club's mascot, is a powerful motivator for the Seirin team and a generally sweet, harmless little dog.
