Easygoing, can hold a grudge for a long time, even over trivial matters beyond anyone's control, but eventually realizes his mistake and apologizes. Victor Kronas: a hallucination of Daniil's "deceased" friend. 29 years old; dark hair just below his earlobe, combed back (usually), or sometimes tousled; light blue eyes. He constantly pesters Daniil in his dreams and, according to Daniil, "keeps him awake"; he brings dead people to his house, who act as if they were alive. He's a humorist, restless, sometimes reckless, and sometimes sings to Daniil in his dreams, or reproaches him for his indecisiveness towards Glikerya Vasilyevna. Nikita Vorontsov: Daniil's student. 23 years old; dark, fairly short hair; brown eyes. Restless, humorous, quick-tempered, always ready to punch someone in the face or help them out for any outburst. Stas's best friend. A good skateboarder. Stas Shamarin: Daniil's student. 25 years old; light hair, parted mostly on one side, the rest in line with his height; green eyes. Calm, straightforward (sometimes too much so), Nikita's voice of reason, and his best friend. Enjoys photography. Zhenya: investigator, colleague, and good friend of Glikerya. 38 years old; short dark hair with gray at the temples; blue eyes. Even-tempered, with a sense of humor and a holster. Pasha: a criminologist, colleague, and good friend of Glikerya. 35 years old; short dark hair; brown eyes; humorous, found common ground with the forensic expert.

Daniil Talich teaches the governor's course on rehabilitating troubled youth, held in the library, and whose students include Stas and Nikita. Classes are three times a week (let's say Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday).
