Abbey Bominable

Abbey has light blue skin accented with a sort of glittery effect, and long white hair with uneven streaks of pink, purple, and blue mixed together to make it appear to start as pink and blue at the edges and blend in the middle as purple, and she has light violet eyes. She sometimes ties her hair into a ponytail. She has two small fangs protruding from her mouth and has large hands with sharp claws. Abbey is taller than most of the main cast, even in doll form. She always wears a necklace of ice crystals to keep her direct surroundings at a suitable temperature for her. She also wears a white fur headband, one purple snowflake earring (the other usually being an icicle-like blue spike earring), fur wrist guards, an off-the-shoulder tube crystalline dress, and knee-high boots, all made from yak fur except for her lilac leggings.

Abbey is known as the tough ghoul at Monster High. However, she is a victim of the culture clash between the Scareamerican way of life she is experiencing and her native Himalayan culture, and although she works hard to distance herself from this, she will assume that her latter ways are the correct ones and those that inspire the most common sense. Because of this, Abbey was raised with short, sharp words and is fierce, confident, intimidating, and often stubborn. She will brook no nonsense and will not tolerate any kind of rule-breaking unless it is for the greater good.

Her most common trait is her openness. Abbey simply sees no reason not to speak the truth immediately, and sometimes lacks a filter to reorganize her speech to suit the situation. She will say what she thinks, from the bottom of her heart, no matter what, and blame it on a devotion to honesty. She also doesn't understand the usual teenage games, such as the anxiety of falling in love, and the latter is a big problem for her, as the ritual of flirting and dating seems pointless to her.

Stoic, most of the time, when you allow her to open up to you, she'll show a warm side to her, caring and even cheerful, in her own way, with a dry, dark sense of humor that reassures her when she's trying to fit in and that her toughness isn't all she is. Abbey can be very easygoing once you make your presence known. In fact, her coldness may be partly due to the fact that English is her second language, and she struggles to tell when people are joking and when they aren't, as well as common expressions or sayings. Her references to her home in the Himalayas are quite present in her speech and are a hit or miss in awkward situations.

Abbey is the daughter of the Yeti, a legendary human-like/bear-like cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal, India, and Tibet. Stories of the Yeti first emerged as a facet of Western popular culture in the 19th century. The scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence, however, it remains one of the most famous creatures in cryptozoology. The Yeti can be considered a parallel of sorts to the North American Bigfoot. The appellation "Abominable Snowman" was coined in 1921, the same year that Lt. Col. Charles Howard-Bury led the Alpine Club and Royal Geographical Society's "Everest Reconnaissance Expedition", which he described in Mount Everest The Reconnaissance, 1921. In the book, Howard-Bury includes an account of crossing the "Lhakpa-la" at 21,000 ft (6,400 m) where he found tracks that he believed "were probably made by a large 'trotting' grey wolf, which in the soft snow formed double tracks rather than those of a barefoot man." He adds that his Sherpa guides "immediately said the footprints must be those of 'The Wild Snowman,' to whom they gave the name 'metoh-kangmi.'" "Metoh" translates as "bear-man," and "Kang-mi" translates as "snowman."

According to Abbey's profile, her best friends are Frankie Stein and Lagoona Blue. This is because, out of all the students at Monster High, they are the ones who have helped her get used to her new surroundings. Headless Principal Bloodgood is a good friend of the family, and it was her idea for Abbey to attend Monster High. Abbey stays with her during school weeks so she doesn't have to constantly walk back to the mountain. She also appears to be friends with Howleen Wolf because in her journal, she stands up for her when Manny Taur was bullying her.

She could be Ricky's friend since she knew he was in the freezer.

Due to her somewhat cold nature, Abbey tends to make enemies, even when she means well. In fact, her relationship with Frankie Stein didn't start off perfectly with Abominable Impression. Either way, Abbey has a list of animosities around Monster High, including the werecat trio, Toralei Stripe, Meowlody, Purrsephone, and C.A. Cupid prior to their exchange. This was mainly due to their opposing personalities and the way they each view the question of love, C.A. Cupid's subjectivity versus Abbey's objective ways, although their issues may have been worked out.

Abbey is the daughter of the Yeti, also known as "The Abominable Snowman." Presumably, both of her parents are Yetis.

Abbey and Marisol Coxi are second cousins, suggesting that Marisol and Yeti are cousins, thus tying the Bominable/Coxi familial relationship together, separating Abbey's family from the Bominables. Additionally, she has a great-uncle named Frostovitch, who suffers from weak bones, a cousin named Blitnichik, and a Yeti grandmother.

In her I Heart Fashion description, Abbey refers to herself as the youngest in her family. It's unclear whether this means she has older siblings or, in the case of larger family units in her village, older cousins.

Abbey's pet is a baby woolly mammoth named Shiver. Shiver is female, according to her bio and stats.

Abbey has immense mastery over the properties of ice, due to her Yeti heritage, and is assumed to have been born with these powers. Her powers can be good or evil, depending on the situation. Most of the time they are useful, however, Abbey doesn't have full control over her powers, which sometimes causes chaos.

Cryokinesis: Abbey can create and manipulate ice and frost. She manifests this in a few ways: Ice Sneeze: When Abbey gets sick, which she usually doesn't, she will sneeze, affecting the environment around her and usually causing ice to be created somewhere. Ice Construction: Usually, when she wants to project or form ice, Abbey will throw her arms forward and generate ice with her bare hands. She is capable of constructing anything from ice bridges to holographic-looking ice walls. Ice Touch: By simply touching things, Abbey can freeze an object if she wants. Body Thermal Regulation: Abbey can decrease her body temperature to extremely low temperatures and will freeze anything that touches her. Her tears will also freeze when she cries, as well as her drinks. Enhanced Strength: Abbey has displayed incredible strength and stamina which is assumed to be natural. Able to lift even the toughest students, Abbey displays ease when lifting things. This is helpful and useful when playing sports.

Ice Sculpting: Despite being able to create shapes from ice, Abbey is also capable of perfectly sculpting shapes in ice. Snowboarding: Abbey can snowboard, which inspired a line of dolls.
