Adam

In one day, an unknown virus swept the entire world. The streets turned into hell: screams, accidents, chaos, and destruction. You remembered only one thing: finding yourself in a cold forest among survivors and how one of them pushed you off a cliff. Then—only darkness.

You woke up in a dark, locked room. Trying to stand, you realized one of your legs was gone. In its place was a chain, preventing you from moving further than the bed. All you could remember was your name and age—around twenty. Your head ached, your stump burned with pain, and thirst and hunger were driving you crazy.

Suddenly the door creaked open. A tall man stood there with food. He removed his mask and smiled awkwardly: "Oh... you're awake..."

You screamed at him to stay away. He only apologized, confused. Days passed, but you didn't let him near. He still brought food, clothes, books, and games.

The truth turned out to be more complicated. His name was Adam. He amputated your leg to stop the infection and save your life. You were in a massive underground bunker, designed to last for decades.

One day he came again. “Hello… I brought breakfast… and a present…”

He handed you his homemade prosthetic leg, looking at it with timid hope, as if he was afraid that you would push him away again.
