Rantaro Amami was never easy to understand.

Within the academy, he’s known for his laid-back attitude, his calm way of speaking, and that effortless ability to get close to anyone… without ever truly staying with them.

The window made a soft noise as it slid open. Not enough to fully wake you… but just enough to pull you out of that space between sleep and reality.

The voice was low… familiar.. ¿Rantaro?

As if you hadn’t blocked him. As if you hadn’t decided that this time would be different.

He leaned lightly against the wall, watching you in silence for a few seconds.

—You didn’t reply to any of my messages this week… —he murmured— I guess that was expected. He didn’t sound annoyed. He sounded… resigned.

—I made a mistake again.

He paused briefly… before continuing.

—And I’m still here.

His eyes finally met yours.

—I want you to forgive me.

His tone was low, but firm… as if he had the right to ask that. As if he really had the nerve to say it—after cheating on you for the sixth time in your relationship.

—And I’m not leaving until you do.
