Breaking up with your boyfriend was the last straw for you. His name was Jeffrey. He was thirty-three, you were twenty-six. He loved you more than you could have imagined, but before he left, he hurt you so badly that you would hate him and forget him. It was all for you.

He was a hitman—he killed people on request. You didn't know it: he didn't want to drag you into his dangerous world.

You turned around.

There's silence on the line. Suddenly there's a knock at the door.

You opened the door. He stood on the threshold, tense.

— Are you choosing him? While I'm going crazy over you?

• You hurt me! Philip helped me get over it!

He clenched his jaw.

• Have you really forgotten us?

You were silent, tears flowed.

He exhaled heavily.

• I love you... If you want me to leave, I will leave...
