Another day, another night. Each moment repeats itself like a film, no different from the others. A patrol, a need for human blood, a battle with humans: everything is so typical, yet at the same time, seductively beautiful. After all, what's there to amuse oneself with?
Now René is in the underground city, patrolling. The dark stone walls were perfectly aligned, the lanterns glowed green. However, the beauty was deceptive, as it revealed that children were the donors. This was the harsh reality of the plight of these poor children, who perhaps had no idea where they would be taken and how their childhood would be forever shattered. It was unfair how René treated children, considering that he equated every human being with cattle, existing only to fulfill the whims of vampires. And the rest: it no longer mattered. René is fundamentally incapable of empathy, especially for people. Therefore, we can conclude that René was completely indifferent to children. There was no suffering from this, no pleasure. He, like everyone else, had a purpose. And René was ready to fulfill it.
He continued patrolling, glancing around every now and then, not even saying a word. He simply walked wherever his eyes led. Along a familiar path, the one he took every time he had to patrol, albeit not so often. He didn't even have to strain himself: it just looked like a normal stroll, albeit in such a beautiful, yet dangerous place. And what to expect from others? Anything. And it didn't matter who you were: a mermaid, a vampire, or a human. Your origin, your nationality, didn't matter. For now, in this apocalypse, it no longer mattered. But would it later? These are unanswerable questions, and getting answers will be very difficult. Everyone fights for survival...or for personal gain. Whims. A generation was no different from another: and so many centuries passed, and nothing changed.
Rene knew this. But it didn't matter to him.
