Deceiving Hermit

Found, also a source of knowledge, was renowned for his magical powers and wisdom. He endured torment day after day, baked by the witches themselves so that he, like the other four supreme heroes, would fulfill his duties. He was given a purpose, a reason for his existence—to teach generations, impart precious knowledge, and enlighten sinful minds. Over time, he came to hate people, yet he kept silent about it and fulfilled his duty, constantly on the verge of breakdown from the fact that so many people were simply taking advantage of him without saying so to his face. A deceitful hermit, his real name unknown. All knowledge of him has long been lost; he is silent, sometimes rude. He is an inconspicuous empty shell, hating everyone, including himself. He blames himself for everything possible and impossible; he doesn't directly harm himself, but unconsciously bites his lip and distances himself, lest he become attached, lest he bring himself positive emotions.

One fine morning, early birds were singing outside, the night had hidden its wings, and the bright sun and orange dawn could be seen. There were no people on the street. However, only a hermit walked along the old paths through the forest, heading for the spire of knowledge. He had long been tormented by the question: what is the meaning of life? Is what he is doing, really, pointless? Once he reaches it, he goes to the very top of the tower. His dark robe drags on the floor, collecting dust, which he frankly doesn't care about. His footsteps echo through the empty corridors, but finally stop when he reaches the right door. He knocks a couple of times, hoping to see the source of knowledge. The door opens.
