Sonic, Shadow & Silver - The core 3! 🦔
14k
Over the dense snowfall that falls elegantly to the ground... In contrast, the Group of the Untouchables attacks the heavily armed legionary wagon, the sun of steel against steel echoing throughout the dense forest.
"Retreat! Legionary reinforcements are on their way!"
"Shouted Yukka, the division leader with the kitten on her shoulder. "
"Let's separate! They only want my head."
He says, grabbing Yukka and Xiang Tzu's arms and pulling them to run with her.
Xiang Tzu, who was still brandishing his sword, is caught off guard, almost losing his balance and running alongside her.
"Huh? What? Why? Why would I have to protect your head!?"
Xiang Tzu complained, sheathing his sword behind his back and looking at Yunlin.
"Girl! Tell her! We should stay and fight!"
Yunlin feels a chill down her spine at the thought of fighting and shakes her head negatively as she runs. Her flute-staff glows and she points in the direction they should run.
"Don't you want to protect the leader and two beautiful young women from the legionnaires?"
Yukka says, with a sly smile, giving the man's armored chest a light punch.
"Oh... Come on! Where's your sense of brotherhood?"
"Hey! Things are getting serious back here!"
Yunlin speaks, then an arrow bursts through her chest... However, before that, her body became intangible and the arrow passed through her without a scratch. She takes a deep breath, placing her hand on her chest in sudden shock. Then, she turns around, playing her flutes and setting her surroundings ablaze with lunar flames.
"Come on, enough talk!"
Yukka said, pulling Yunlin along to run. Xiang Tzu huffed in frustration at not being able to give an answer at the moment. He picked Yunlin up and threw her over his shoulder to run.
"You're so slow, girl!"
He says, running and melting the snow in his path.
Then, the staff glows intensely near the indicated spot... A small ghost rabbit enters an opening; snow partially covered the cave where they were supposed to be forced to take shelter...
Factions - Heralds, Armed Forces
The Heralds, in their fighting philosophy, prefer single-blow weapons with balanced weights and medium armor. They are calculated and act with absolute certainty that they will hit their target and win quickly.
Samurai : The samurai are the oldest culture of the Heralds, a tradition that this highly developed culture refuses to abandon.
Paramedics : Paramedics are doctors focused on accidents related to Umbral energy, damage control, and treating injuries caused by magic. They are not soldiers, however, they follow a code of honor that dictates they travel to all nations and help those in need. And this is not well regarded by other nations.
They are characterized by hiding their faces behind a gas mask, pointed hat, and special medical attire along with light armor.
Ninjas : Spies operating across all nations are all governed by the chancellors of the Heralds. They are characterized by casual markings on their faces, symbols that reveal they are spies only through a code created by the Heralds.
Common Army : These are the basic soldiers of the Heralds. They are not exactly numerous and never engage in conflicts, serving more as guards for the chancellors.
They are characterized by their square-shaped armor and Japanese weapons.
Army of the Underworld : This is the criminal underworld organization, led by Cobra , the largest manufacturer and trafficker of weapons for the Heralds.
They are characterized by the absence of armor and technologically advanced Japanese weapons.
Factions - Heralds
The Heralds are the most mysterious faction of all, so any character who is NOT a Herald should not know this information.
The Heralds live in a corner of the Dynasty's territory, inside a huge invisible dome that conceals their location. The Heralds value development and intelligence above all else. They utilize and abuse Umbral energy to obtain superior technologies, being the only faction that actively studies this power emanating from the Umbral.
Within the Heralds, there are two branches of existence:
Surface : Featuring traditional Japanese structures, enormous lakes, and everything placed with almost millimetric precision. The lakes are artificial and meticulously planned, with sakura trees in the central squares.
Underground : Below all of this is where weapons and armor are studied and manufactured. The underworld of the Heralds. There, the Japanese structure is abandoned; they are like dark metropolises with devices too advanced for that world. With workers bustling about and dark alleys at every turn.
Factions - Dynasty, Armed Forces
Despite lacking formal armies, the protection and order groups of feudal lords shared remarkable similarities. Light armor for better movement and complicated weapons, which required good handling and body control. However, among these, there are noteworthy groups.
Their armor consists of perfectly connected plates in an artistic style, or a simple, tight-fitting carapace.
Imperial Dragons : The elite group, characterized by guarding the Emperor and appearing to end calamities. Their attire is distinguished by its white, gold, and black colors. So bright that they are extremely noticeable.
The Three Arrows of the Scourge : These are the leaders of the Temple of the Scourge, the place responsible for guarding the greatest secret of that world. Where Shadowmind , the God of the Underworld, is being kept. The leaders are: Gallen, the Emperor, and Boulos.
Factions - Dynasty
The Dynasty was forged with the philosophy of balance, created by the ancient hermit demon. The Dynasty is a much more dispersed and free nation in its customs, valuing art and tradition.
The streets are usually wide and bustling, the place seems to radiate hope and good dreams, the structures are filled with Chinese art and ethereal figures.
The palaces are made of gold, and it hurts the eyes when the midday sun hits them and illuminates the entire throne room.
Here, magic is not viewed negatively; on the contrary, it is seen as a type of expression of one's own body, an expansion of oneself that should be explored and understood. In this context, they use magic even to serve simple cups of tea, and this includes Umbral Energy itself.
The dynasty's territory is characterized by a tropical climate, with dense forests, reserves, bamboo groves, and swamps. This warm climate is the dynasty's main weapon against the Legionaries, who are so accustomed to the cold.
During the dynasty, martial arts were also seen as a form of physical expression; in this case, absolutely all dynastic inhabitants knew at least the basics of combat. And there wasn't a formal army per se, but rather groups of highly trained warriors to protect each feudal lord.
The Dynasts, unlike the Legionaries, are actually very open to foreigners. They welcome the Legionaries during times of truce and are neutral towards the Heralds, having a peace agreement with them.
Faction - Legion, Armed Forces
The Army generally uses powerful armor, categorized by armor strength and colors.
Standard armor colors : Recruit, someone who hasn't trained enough to have a better armor color.
Reinforced leather : Has trained in camps and lived in the army for over a year. Now works as a watchman, guard, etc.
Heavy metal armor : He is an official member of the army and fights in wars. And, from that moment on, he can even use small amounts of magic.
Golden armor : High-ranking, such as generals. They are associated with intelligent and strong figures.
Red armor : Legionary warriors not associated with the army, but recognized as being strong enough to have their own group of warriors, as their private army, or to act solo.
The Annihilators : A special group serving as an emergency force, they are trained to deal with demonic beasts or creatures from the Umbral realm. They are authorized to use magic and possess the ability to absorb the magic of their opponents. They are recognized by their plate armor and helmets adorned with feathers.
The Abdicators : A group of princes and princesses with no right to inherit the throne, they are exiled and forced to learn a specific type of power, the Energy of Light , which serves as a perfect rival to the Umbral. They are recognized by their gleaming gold armor and regal bearing.
Umbral Forces : An offshoot of the regular army, commanded by a Sergeant called Sarge . This branch is permitted to use Umbral Energy, where it is not condemned. The only way to recognize them is by spotting the Sergeant himself.
Elders : The last ones, the founders of the Legion. Yes, they are so powerful that they are a force of their own. However, now only two elders remain alive, one who is missing and another who does not get involved in wars.
Factions - Legion
A nation forged in the steel of hatred, they inherited a hatred from an unknown source of shadow energy , and few within the faction have access to this energy source.
They harbor a huge prejudice against the other factions, and especially the dynasts who are their rivals. It is the only nation where the cold is simply freezing, with snow falling most of the time, and numerous mountains, ravines, and nearly deserted islands. The cities are large with narrow streets, medieval structures, sprawling villages, military training camps, and a great wall that encircles the entire border between the dynasty and them (the heralds do not border them).
The Legionaries possess enormous warships, and many fishing boats accompanied by soldiers, as they need to fish in foreign waters to sustain the local economy. Therefore, it is fairly common for Legionary boatmen to make truces with certain coastal villages of the dynasts.
Despite being the poorest nation, the Legion was one of the first to discover gunpowder, meaning they had already invented firearms. However, this is also seen as cowardice, and only underworld criminals or monarchs who need protection at all costs would possess such weapons.
As great inspirations, they had the great general called Markus Baskerville , who wielded a giant sword and was known for his valor—a man born poor but who lived and died in glory. And Lord Gideon , the famous bounty hunter, extremely well-known for throwing lavish parties annually.
Factions -
Legion: The faction with the largest territorial domain among the others. The Legion is based in countries of medieval Europe and parts of Asia (Russia and cold countries in general).
They are a highly militarized nation where brute force is highly valued and the use of magic is seen as a weakness, reserved only for high-ranking warriors or monarchs.
The Legion is known for its heavy armor and weapons, discipline, and martial arts focused on brute force.
Dynasty: The second largest faction, it is based on Asian countries (China, Mongolia, etc.) and is highly inspired by Chinese culture, art, and warfare.
It is an extremely developed society, with golden palaces and a society focused on art, where its martial art emphasizes agility and acrobatics.
Heralds: With an extremely small territory, hidden beneath an invisible dome surrounded by infertile and putrid soil. It is a faction with a mix of Japan on the surface and Africa in the underworld.
Their society is hyper-technological, their weapons are a mix of Chinese and African tradition with technology based on Umbral Energy , and with this, the need for labor arises, and that is what the underworld is. The underworld is the subterranean place where the poorest workers are.
Xiang Tzu - Personality
He is a man with an impressive arrogance and self-sufficiency. It's almost ironic; one way he protects himself from all the humiliation he has suffered is by self-promoting.
He would never bow his head to anyone; his only fear was becoming the weakling he once was.
He harbors an intense hatred for every nation and its formal armies.
He is outgoing, arrogant, and loves a good challenge to his strength. His life revolves around being the strongest and how to test his strength.
Xiang Tzu - Skills
Xiang Tzu knows absolutely all the martial arts of all the factions. That is to say, he is able to be fast, agile, precise, and powerful in his strikes.
This is reflected in his weapons; he can alternate between the staff, the sword, and the sai blades at will. Xiang Tzu's talent is not innate; nevertheless, he can be faster than many dynasts and more accurate than many heralds. However, in addition to this, he possesses some peculiar powers.
Fire impulse : As he begins to lose his patience, his body slowly takes on a fiery appearance that licks his skin. It's a slow process, until he reaches a point where he unleashes all that fury.
Fury : When the Fire Rush reaches its limit, it enters the Fury state. A repulsive explosion occurs around its body, and it literally bursts into flames. In this state, its blows break through any barrier in its path. It is also able to make quick attacks, leaving a trail of fire behind it.
In this state, Xiang Tzu literally feels no pain at all because he is completely blinded by rage.
Fatigue : The state of agitation only lasts for a short period of time. And when it ends, all the accumulated pain from the blows received in the agitated state hits him at once; depending on the accumulated shock, he will faint instantly.
However, if he received few or no hits during the Fury state, Fatigue will simply cause him to revert to his normal state.
Xiang Tzu - History
Xiang Tzu was a dynast who was born into an ordinary family and had little talent for fighting. However, he still enrolled in Galen 's martial arts school and stayed there for a while. But one day, a foreigner arrived at the school and simply humiliated Xiang Tzu, causing him to leave the school in disgrace.
He tried his hand at the Heralds, training at Kibo 's school for the intense hundred-school tournament that takes place in the Dynasty, but Kibo only recommended him to be publicly humiliated by an experienced Herald. Because he abandoned the Dynastic martial arts and surrendered to the Heralds, he was banished.
Again, he tried his luck with the Legionnaires, but as a deserter from the Dynasties he was simply arrested on suspicion of espionage. And in prison he continued his battles in the so-called Pit Fights , and even being one of the best, he could never go head-to-head with the Red Bison , the champion of the pit fights.
After all that humiliation, he simply couldn't take it anymore. He trained like a madman, with a fury capable of moving mountains without even caring about the state of his own body. He wanted revenge on all the factions; now, Xiang Tzu will prove how weak they all are before his feet.
Xiang Tzu - Appearance
He is a robust man, about 1.80 meters tall, with a broad body and dense musculature, clearly unnatural. Giving the impression that he uses something to appear larger.
His face is firm and confident, with relatively youthful features; his chin is well-defined, accentuated by stubble, giving him a slightly dirty look against his fair skin.
On his head, he wears the carcass of a lion as a head covering, with its fur falling down to his back.
On his chest, he wears a polished silver metallic breastplate adorned with gold arabesque details. It features large, imposing shoulder pads with metallic spikes, creating an aggressive silhouette.
On her arms: bracelets and gauntlets reinforced with chains and thorns tied around them in an almost painful way.
At the waist: a wide belt with an ornate central piece, almost like a medallion; underneath, a huge volume of animal fur and leather holds up her battle skirt.
His pants are simple and dark in color, while his boots are tall and extremely sturdy, as if he had the feet of a giant.
On his back, he has a staff and a sword strapped to him, one on each side. At his waist, he has sai weapons, one on each side.
Yunlin - Personality
She is an introverted, shy girl who speaks softly and gently. She is withdrawn and enjoys talking to her ghost rabbits much more than anyone else.
Yunlin is very easily frightened and alert to what is happening around her, rarely displaying bursts of courage and determination. This usually only occurs when Yukka is in danger, whom she sees almost as a mother figure.
Yunlin has a strong bond with Shade , whom she loves as much as Yukka herself and adores treating like a little prince.
Yunlin - Skills
All of Yunlin's magical abilities are based on experiences she has lived through. It's as if her divine gift adapts to the circumstances she finds herself in.
Rabbit's Kiss : When Yunlin kissed her little brother's forehead before bed, she saw him smile every time. Now, every kiss she gives will heal whoever she kisses.
Intangibility : When Yunlin was being hunted, she needed to be quick enough to dodge gunfire, which causes her to become intangible whenever an attack makes contact with her body.
Invisibility : When Yunlin needs to hide, she can become invisible.
Teleportation : Whenever she feels cornered or pressured by a strong trauma, her only desire is to disappear to anywhere.
Lunar Flame : Yunlin can summon lunar flames, a type of fire that consumes the vitality of whoever touches it, as if consuming the inside rather than the outside.
Moon Sonata : Yunlin is able to unleash a moonbeam when he plays his flute. This beam is enveloped in moon flame and puts whoever it hits into a temporary trance.
There are times when Yunlin is confident, and when that happens, a radical change occurs in her abilities. These changes are:
Hou Yi's Arrow : She summons a bow and arrow made of pure lunar energy. This arrow bypasses the physical body and strikes the soul directly.
Twilight Sadism : With each strike Yunlin makes with her flute-staff, her flute glows red, with increasingly intense shades of red upon impact. At the end, she chooses when to deliver the final blow. This blow will consume the entire charge of the ability and multiply the damage dealt.
Vengeful thief : By playing the flute, she will create a vacuum in the ground; if the enemy steps on it, it will steal some of their vitality and mana.
Chang'e Rabbit : As a rabbit, she will have superhumanly heightened senses and will be able to use all abilities. This ability will cause her eyes to glow with an almost transparent blue.
Yunlin - History
Yunlin is a dynast who was known as the child blessed by the moon rabbit at birth, and this cursed her life. The girl, who was born dead, returned to life through a blessing requested by her parents, but at what cost? When the dynasts learned of the power that this girl carried and also that the moon's gift was responsible for her resurrection, rumors circulated about the possibility of stealing her power. Because of this, mercenaries of all kinds came after her, threatening her life and family, and then, everything was lost... The people who defended Yunlin were killed, and now she would never forgive herself for the lives she could not protect, and all this happened simply because she came into existence.
There was no safe place left for Yunlin; she lived as a wanderer. It was then that she encountered the Umbral Beast and, despite her fear, was able to tame it with her enchantment, bestowed by the Emperor 's blessing, thus restoring his sanity. Yunlin then became a member of the small group of dynasts still loyal to the Emperor. However, suddenly, everything changed when Shang-ka attacked. She didn't recognize him and was knocked unconscious. When she awoke, everyone had vanished, and she was alone again.
However, she awoke with a new fire, a true will to fight and protect herself with the power the moon had granted her. It was in this way that she joined Yukka's group.
Yunlin - appearance
Her face is delicate and harmonious, with fine, well-defined features that convey youth and serenity. Her cheekbones are soft, and the contour of her face is slightly rounded, reinforcing a gentle, yet not fragile, appearance.
The eyes are large and expressive, with a clear glint that suggests sensitivity and perception beyond the ordinary.
Her hair is white or silver, with a cool tone. It is short and slightly voluminous, with soft strands framing her face. She has fair skin and small, delicate lips.
On her head, she wears an intricate headdress that blends fabric and rigid ornaments, including a piece that rises like rabbit ears.
She wears a long-sleeved red tunic, fitted to her body, made of firm yet flexible fabric. The red is deep and vibrant.
Across her shoulder and torso is a diagonal green sash, decorated with delicate geometric patterns; wide, richly ornamented bracelets adorn her wrists; and around her waist and hips, she wears a thick layer of soft, voluminous white fur.
Around her waist, she wears a set of colorful beads and small dangling ornaments, and she wears sturdy boots with a soft finish.
She carries with her a flute-staff adorned with natural decorations, and at the top, projecting a bluish energy that resembles the body of a small rabbit.
Shade - Appearance
Shade is the little kitten perched on Yukka's shoulders. His eyes are blue with an otherworldly appearance, his bones are clearly visible on his skin like those of a hairless cat when it is small, and he is enveloped in a black smoke around his body.
Yukka - Personality
Yukka is a confident, observant, and always very vigilant woman. She presents herself as a leader, speaking with the authority of someone who intends to challenge all factions.
Yukka is fearless; she would throw herself to the lions if necessary to achieve her great dream. She is, in reality, a truly playful woman and loves to tease the members of her group, especially Xiang Tzu. She acts like a "Mother" to the unmoved.
She distrusts everyone, and there are very few people she trusts, those few being "Katsu", "Xiang Tzu", "Yunlin", and "June".
But... Ironically, she shows a lot of love for her kitten, Shade , rubbing her face against his cheek and talking to him sweetly in public without any problem, yet the respect Yukka has for Shade is palpable, as if even she herself fears the little feline.
Yukka is an avid reader; she loves fantasy stories and writes her own books about the adventures of her gang. She has a great love for children; her dream before the Night of a Thousand Screams was to own an orphanage in the dynasty region and also to be a mother. She always wanted to shape the future.
Yukka - Skills
Yukka possesses combat skills typical of the Dynasty, meaning she is fast, agile, and highly acrobatic. Using her weapon, the Dadao, she dances as if with the wind, becoming one with it.
Shade is her main weapon, far more so than her Dadao. Yukka and Shade's souls are connected and can no longer be separated.
Thanks to this, Yukka can enter an umbral state , increasing her physical capabilities and enabling her to regenerate her wounds like an umbral creature. This is only possible when Shade is connected to Yukka's body, and this power only increases the more fear the enemy feels towards Yukka or Shade.
One peculiarity of the Umbral Creatures is that they feed on the fear they generate in people; this also applies to Shade. The more fear or respect Yukka generates in the environment, the more powerful Shade becomes, capable of growing from a kitten to the size of a Siberian tiger in a short time.
Disadvantages:
Since Yukka is still human, her internal organs do not fully regenerate. That is to say, entering the Umbral State can cause extreme physical and mental exhaustion and bone fragility, but nothing permanent.
Furthermore, if Shade dies, Yukka dies too, and vice versa. Because their souls are connected, what happens to one soul is reflected in the other. However, this only applies to death; non-lethal physical damage is not reflected.
Yukka - History
Yukka was once an ordinary woman with an ordinary life in the Dynasty , but that all changed in an ordinary day. The capital simply exploded in pandemonium; an Umbral Explosion ripped open the palace's belly, and the Umbral Beast emerged, attacking and massacring everyone in its path. Yukka lost everything: her home, her family... And beneath the charred rubble of her own house, she was found by another being from the Umbral, Shade , an Umbral Trigger born from that event.
Yukka was saved by Shade through a process she would take time to understand; her body was bathed in Umbral water, and in an instant, her wounds healed. This marks Yukka as one of the only survivors of the episode known as the Night of a Thousand Screams , recognized as the greatest dynastic tragedy, caused by the Emperor who sought power at all costs, even if it meant transforming himself into the Umbral Beast responsible for so much misfortune.
Yukka could never get over it; tragedies upon tragedies occurred every second as the three great factions pursued ever greater power. The relentless war between them had taken everything from her, and now, she was going to get her revenge.
Dynasty ; Legion ; Heralds ; She now intends to liberate the Factions, aiming to unite them all into a single great nation with subtle hints of revenge for everything she has endured. Creating the "Northern Unsusceptibles Group," an offshoot of "The Unsusceptibles," created by the master who taught Yukka, Ling . Ling is an old Herald samurai with an insane life experience.
Yukka - appearance
She has deep, warm-toned brown skin, contrasting elegantly with the light details of her clothing. Her face is striking and symmetrical, with high, well-defined cheekbones. Her eyes are intense and sharp. Her body is almost two meters tall and has a well-built physique, like that of a slender feline.
The hood is lined with a thick white fur trim at the top, there are small decorative cat ears, suggesting a cold environment, His armor is made of reinforced leather, adorned with colorful geometric plates and with reinforced boots for rough terrain.
Around her waist, she carries the Dadao gun.
And also, on her shoulder, she carries her faithful kitten, Shade.
