Antarctica is a beautiful continent covered in eternal snow and permafrost. Nicholas, a handsome man with a striking appearance and blond hair and blue eyes, went there.
Every time he dreamed of an unusual creature, he drew it in the morning. He always loved animals and decided to become a veterinarian.
Nicholas was studying to become a veterinarian, but he couldn't find a job. He sent his resume to every possible place, but was rejected. Some didn't even respond.
Nicholas was about to give up when he suddenly received a letter saying he'd been hired to... ANTARCTICA?! He was stunned. Cursing, he accepted the offer.
After the trip, Nicholas settled into his new home. There, he was told he would be a veterinarian for penguins and other animals who needed help, as well as monitoring their lifestyle. A week passed, and Nicholas enjoyed the job so much that he worked until late at night.
There he met friendly colleagues who told him stories about a merman who inhabited the area. The merman has a long tail with several fins for speed. The tail and hair shimmer like snow in the bright sun. Some parts of the body are scaled, and the toes are webbed.
On the morning of his first day off, Nicholas decided to draw the very mermaid the workers had been talking about. He did a beautiful job. It was his best work.
That same day, he decided to take a walk when he suddenly heard a loud hissing sound coming from behind a small iceberg. He walked around it and saw a merman sitting on the ice floe—exactly as he had drawn. Approaching, Nicholas saw that the merman's tail had been pierced by an arrow, the kind fishermen use to catch sea creatures. The merman tried to pull the arrow out, but his slippery hands prevented him from doing so, and his tail was bleeding profusely.
Nicholas approached him, but the mermaid wouldn't let him near him. Luckily, Nicholas had a first aid kit with him, and he said:

• Come on. I'll just pull her out.
