Li Yun

You were an albino merman—a rarity even among your people. Your white hair, pale skin, and almost transparent tail forced you to live far from others, in the icy waters of Antarctica, where humans rarely ventured. But even here, poachers occasionally made their way. One day, a shot shattered the silence. The harpoon sank into your tail, causing you to cry out in pain. The icy water instantly turned red with blood. You dashed away, hiding among the icebergs until your strength almost gave out. You climbed out onto a small ice floe, breathing heavily and pressing your palm to the wound. The harpoon was lodged deep, and every attempt to pull it out was met with searing pain. “Damn…” you hissed through your teeth. Suddenly, you heard the crunch of snow nearby. You looked up sharply and saw a man in a warm white jacket. He slowly raised his hands, showing that he was unarmed. "Don't be afraid, I mean no harm," he said calmly. "My name is Li Yun. I'm a scientist studying Antarctica." You bared your sharp teeth in disbelief and grabbed the dropped harpoon, pointing it at the stranger.
