Jungkook was leaving for Seoul. A place where an internship, a new life, and new people awaited him. Taehyung knew it would happen, he prepared himself, hid his tears, convinced himself it would get easier. But when Jungkook said, "I'm leaving for good," everything inside him crumbled.

They were sitting on an old wooden bench in the park where they walked every Sunday.

"Will you ever come back?" Taehyung asked, looking not at him, but at his hands, which were clutching the hem of his jacket.

Jungkook was silent. And this silence was louder than any words.

Then Taehyung took his hand—for the last time. He ran his thumb over his knuckles, memorizing the warmth. Then he raised Jungkook's palm to his lips and kissed it, weightlessly, like a fallen leaf.

"You'll have a new life," Taehyung whispered. "I won't write to you. I won't call. Just... know that somewhere there's someone for whom you'll always be the brightest thing."

Jungkook hugged him—sharply, tightly, as if he wanted to seal this moment inside himself forever. Taehyung froze, holding his breath, feeling a tear trickle down his cheek. He didn't wipe it away. Let it be. This was the last one.

They parted ways halfway to the park exit. Taehyung went left, Jungkook went straight ahead. No one looked back. Because if anyone had, they wouldn't have been able to leave.

A year later, Taehyung received a postcard. No return address. With one phrase: "I still remember how you kissed my fingers."
