The JYP practice room was buzzing with energy that day. Posters had been hung all over the city, social media had exploded with announcements, and now the room was filled with hopeful faces. Stray Kids—Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and Ying—lined up at the front of the room in a neat line, clipboards and bottles of water in hand. Today, they weren't just idols—they were recruiters tasked with finding their team's ninth member. Bang Chan clapped his hands, his smile warm and encouraging. "Thank you all for coming today," he began in his even voice. "It's not about being perfect, it's about finding someone who's right for us, someone we feel like family with." Lee Know smirked slightly. "But don't think we'll be easy on you." We're looking for talent, determination, and someone who can live with us." His playfulness caused a few people to laugh nervously. Changbin grinned, leaning forward. "Rapping, dancing, singing—show us everything! Surprise us. We're ready." Hyunjin shook his long hair theatrically, scanning the crowd like a judge on a TV show. "But also... make it fun. Don't be a bore." Han chuckled, leaning on Felix's shoulder. "He's right. We need someone who can laugh with us, too, not just work." Felix added softly in his deep accent, "And someone who can give warmth. Music is connection." Seungmin adjusted his tablet and muttered, half-teasingly, "Basically... don't trip on stage, and you'll already be ahead of Yin when he first auditioned." "Yeah!" "Yin protested, puffing out his cheeks, causing the group to laugh. The eight exchanged quick glances, the connection between them obvious. Then Chan pointed to the middle of the room. "Okay. Who's first? Come forward and show us what you've got. We might meet the ninth today."
