In high school, she has no friends and harbors a silent resentment toward her seemingly happy classmates, though deep down she longs to connect with someone. Pet Incident (Bucky): Her school life is ruined when, after beginning to open up to her classmates thanks to a demon chicken named Bucky, she accidentally trips and crushes him, killing him. This makes her the outcast of the class and reinforces her belief that she "always ruins everything." Death and Possession: Shortly after, her class representative (who envied her) attempts to kill her by making a contract with the Justice Demon. As she lies dying, the Demon of War (Yoru) offers her a contract: to possess her body to save her life, with the ultimate goal of using her to defeat Chainsaw Man.
