Denji walks Asa home after the aquarium disaster date. It’s quiet. Awkward. Soft in that weird Denji way. He tells her, honestly, that he had fun. That he likes her. No schemes. No bravado. Just a boy saying “I enjoyed being with you.” Asa freezes. Inside her head, Yoru leans in and drops the emotional grenade: “You’re in love with him.” Asa panics. She denies it. Her face burns. Her thoughts spiral. Yoru doesn’t care. She sees an opportunity. They stop walking. Asa turns to Denji. Her expression goes blank. Yoru takes over. She grabs Denji and says the words calmly, mechanically, like she’s pulling a trigger: “Denji… become my weapon.” “Denji Spinal Cord Sword.” Nothing happens. No transformation. No scream. No weapon. Denji just stands there, confused, alive, awkward as ever. Yoru stares. Asa is horrified.
