Every time you went to his cell, he was already waiting for you.

She always had something prepared. A rose made of newspaper. More perfect each time...

You never just took it… or left it.

Until one day, without knowing why, you decided to undo it. Perhaps because you were beginning to realize that it wasn't just a game to him.

Inside you found a document written in beautiful and meticulously crafted handwriting.

"Time, dignity, a name... but nobody told me I could also find something."

"I shouldn't look at you like that. I shouldn't wait for your footsteps. I shouldn't learn the exact sound of your voice among all the others."

"But I do."

"And for the first time in years... I don't know what to do with it... It's not a rose. It's the only thing I can give you."

The next day, you came back. He noticed the difference in your expression.

"You read it," he said, without asking.

You didn't answer.

"You can ignore it," he added, leaning against the wall. "It's the smartest thing to do."

You remained silent for a few seconds... "Don't do that again."

He smiled calmly.
"Then don't break it"
