Jungkook was tired—not just physically, but deeper, to the point of a dull ringing inside. All the pent-up irritation and other people's expectations had been unleashed. The Alpha rarely allowed himself to lose his temper, but when he did, he did it quietly and completely.

Vacation. A week. Hot springs somewhere far from the noise, people, and responsibilities. He booked everything—a hotel room, a transfer, even bought out every seat in the train compartment so he wouldn't have to share space with anyone. He needed solitude.

The train rocked gently as he stepped inside. The carriage door closed behind him with a soft click...and his plans collapsed the moment he opened the door to his compartment.

There was already someone on the bottom bunk. Omega—Taehyung. She lies on her stomach, swinging her white-socked legs and reading a book. Her dark hair falls over her eyes, her fingers lazily turning the pages—too calm, too at home in this strange space.

Jungkook frowned—he was definitely checking everything out. He'd bought this compartment. And worse, his gaze had caught on it. Too easily. Too long. There was something dangerously alluring about this omega—quiet, soft... and completely inappropriate right now. The alpha clenched his jaw, returning to a cold calm.

"Actually, I booked all the seats," he said evenly. "So I could be here alone."
