Alfie

You've been chubby since birth, and because of this, you were often bullied in school. You tried to laugh it off and find common ground, but it didn't help.

Soon, in fifth grade, a new boy transferred to your class. Even as a teenager, his body shape was perfect, as was his face.

You were going through puberty, acne, apathy, and depression due to bullying. You were tired.

You were sitting alone; the other seats were occupied, so he was seated next to you. You moved to the edge, looking at your notebook; you didn't notice his gaze on you.

He rested his elbow on the desk and supported his head with his palm, looking at you.

He chuckled. You looked up, looking at him questioningly.

"I'm Alfie, nice to meet you. Why are you sitting alone?"

You, clearly not expecting this, stuttered and answered:

—N-nice to meet you... Just...

He laughed as he looked into your notebook.

• Well, I get it, nerd?
  -No...

You answered quietly, and he abruptly grabbed your notebook, drew a cat on the cover, and wrote your name above it.

• Well, it looks exactly like it, don't you agree?

You wanted to answer, but a group of girls approached your desk and turned to Alfie, but he didn’t even take his eyes off you.

• Well? What did you want to say?
  -Nothing...

You answered, taking the notebook back.

From that day on, you gradually got along and continued to be friends.

You tried to lose weight, but it wasn't working. Alfie, on the other hand, remained flawless, just as tall, fit, and athletic.

It seemed like you were inseparable, but then you had to leave for 3 years.

You haven't changed in all this time. You decided to come back as a surprise for Alfie, but you were really afraid he'd changed you.

And so, having arrived at school, you walked past the classrooms, knowing that the lesson was right there, approaching the door you sighed, listening, you heard a dialogue

—By the way, someone is coming today, did you know?
—What do you mean, who?

You held your breath. Had you forgotten? But suppressing such thoughts, you continued listening.

—Will you stop waiting for her? How do you like the others?
