Narancia Ghirga (ナランチャ・ギルガ, Narancha Giruga) is one of the main characters in Vento Aureo. He is a key ally and member of Bucciarati's gang.

Appearance Narancia is a slender young man, slightly below average height, with an androgynous face. He wears a tank top, secured with ribbons to his choker, and dark trousers. He wears light-colored accessories, such as a scarf, wristbands, and a belt holding up a short, grid-patterned skirt, slightly slit in the middle. His dark hair falls over his eyes, with small strands peeking out from under the headband.

It is worth noting that in his anime version he has more defined muscles compared to his original appearance.

In the epilogue, it is shown how much he dislikes people like Namidame no Luca, expressing relief at his death and commenting that Luca was vile and sold drugs to young boys.

Personality Narancia's education doesn't extend beyond elementary school (roughly second grade), a fact that embarrasses and infuriates him when others mention it. However, this in no way implies that he's stupid, as Narancia is capable of strategically using his surroundings in several battles; for example, he managed to blow up a car with a miniaturized Aerosmith during his fight against Formaggio by detecting the car's high carbon dioxide emissions. He also defeated Squalo and Tiziano using the same strategy, trapping them as they tried to leave the building from which they launched their long-range attacks.

He acts more or less like a brat in a relaxed situation. Being almost as temperamental as Fugo, he's loud, foul-mouthed, and violent in his outbursts. He's also reckless, often acting before he thinks, which causes him several problems during their journey. Furthermore, he's the least serious person in the group, often getting distracted from their mission by his antics. Aside from this, Narancia presents a sweet side to those who get to know him. Valuing friendship above all else, he's the most likeable person to his companions, and despite a rather rough start (where Narancia was close to attacking her were it not for Bucciarati's timely intervention), his relationship with Trish quickly improves, and he becomes Trish's confidant during the journey.

He also seems to believe in "age elitism," believing himself to be of higher authority than those younger than himself. This trait is the first thing he notices about Giorno Giovanna when he asks his age. However, Narancia is willing to let Fugo teach him how to compensate for his lack of academic intelligence, as he is aware of his friend's expertise in that field.

Background When Narancia was fourteen, he had to cope with the grief of his mother's death from an eye disease. Narancia's father didn't love him very much, and after his mother died, he began to neglect Narancia more and more.

Soon Narancia stopped attending school and began staying at his friends' houses, stealing food for dinner. Narancia believes friendship is the most important thing in the world, which made him easily manipulated by an older friend. This friend told Narancia to dye his hair blond, claiming it was the current trend. He complied, but the next day, the police arrested him and ordered him to be put in a juvenile detention center, where he ended up spending a year. Confused, Narancia sought information and discovered that his older friend had broken into someone else's house and then convinced Narancia to change his appearance so that he would be falsely accused of the crime and the friend could go free.

A year later, at the age of fifteen, Narancia was finally released from the detention center, despite having contracted an eye infection from the constant abuse he suffered at the hands of the guards. Rumors began circulating around town that he had inherited his mother's illness and that people should avoid him. Eventually, putting two and two together, he realized that because he had only told his best friend about his mother's illness, it was his friend who had started the rumor. With nowhere else to go, Narancia had given up on life.

However, one day, while searching for food in trash cans, he was found by Pannacotta Fugo and from there he would meet Bruno Bucciarati. After feeding him, Bucciarati called an ambulance to take Narancia to the hospital. After three weeks in the hospital, Narancia's eye disease was cured, but he was confused about Bucciarati's reasons for helping him. He soon realized that he was a member of the mafia and begged Bucciarati to let him work for him. Bucciarati became furious and told Narancia to go home and attend school. He did as he was told, but wondered what had angered Bucciarati so much. Finally, he realized that Bucciarati was angry for Narancia's well-being, which made him want to work with him even more. Half a year later, he went to see Polpo without telling Bucciarati and passed the test, acquiring his Stand.

When Giorno first appears, he is sitting with Guido Mista, Leone Abbacchio, and Fugo, waiting for Bucciarati. Fugo tries to get Narancia to study. Narancia seems to be getting the math question right; until proven completely wrong, despite his confidence, he has asked the question correctly. Fugo attacks him with a fork, and Narancia retaliates with his knife, resulting in a confrontation between the two, which is soon broken up by the arrival of Bucciarati and Giorno Giovanna. Narancia asks Giorno his age and remarks that Giorno is two years younger than him.

Narancia is later seen on the boat heading to Capri with the rest of Bucciarati's group. He had bought a CD player and was listening to it. The volume is loud and bothers Mista, who is sitting nearby. Mista asks him for a can of soda, and when Narancia isn't looking, he pours the drink on the CD player, effectively breaking it. Narancia is confused and angry, saying he's going to teach the shopkeeper who sold it to him a thing or two. When Bucciarati finally reveals that they are going to Capri to retrieve the six billion dollars that Polpo had hidden on him, Narancia is just as excited as everyone else. However, Narancia is the first to be captured by Mario Zucchero's Stand, Soft Machine. After Bucciarati defeats Zucchero, Narancia is shown having Fugo examine his head for bruises. Then, he, Fugo, and Abbacchio end up kicking Zucchero's body, while Mista abuses Zucchero's severed head. After declaring that Zucchero is going to the ninth level of hell, Narancia engages in a strange dance, quickly joining Mista, then Fugo.

Upon arriving on the island of Capri, and while waiting for Bucciarati to reveal the six billion, Narancia confronts a cleaner, threatening him with his knife, as the cleaner goes to clean the bathroom where they are. Tables are turned upside down as the cleaner overpowers him, but the confrontation is halted when Pericolo reveals himself as a Passione capo who has come to collect the six billion and promote Bucciarati to capo. The cleaner, with whom Narancia fought, is revealed to be Trish, and also the focus of Bucciarati's group's new mission.

The group hides, beginning their mission to escort Trish to her father. Bucciarati assigns Narancia to go out and find food, as well as some things Trish requests. Fugo tries to remind Narancia of the specific directions he must follow while driving so he doesn't return to the house. Narancia tries twice to remember the directions, but ends up forgetting them both times, causing Fugo to become angry. Abbacchio says he isn't worried about anyone following Narancia; Narancia's Stand should be enough to scare off any followers.

Narancia then goes on his shopping trip, though he's acting incredibly cautious. While going from store to store, he stops Bucciarati's rental car in the middle of the street when he feels he's being watched. Suddenly, a voice calls out to Narancia, and when he looks under the car, he sees a pair of feet climbing into the vehicle. Narancia finds a man sitting in the back seat, who asks him where he's going. The man introduces himself as Formaggio, claiming to be a member of the organization. Formaggio rambles on about how Bucciarati's group disappeared after Polpo's death, as well as other more nonsensical topics. Narancia curls up in a false sense of momentary security, which gives Formaggio the opportunity to attack Narancia with his Stand, Little Foot. Narancia stumbles backward, and Formaggio demands to know why Bucciarati's group didn't attend Polpo's funeral. It's at this point that Narancia summons his Stand, Aerosmith, and begins firing at Formaggio, who is still in the back seat of the car. Formaggio is surprised that Narancia is a Stand user, while Narancia declares that he will finish his task and will not allow Formaggio to follow him.

Narancia's Aerosmith unleashes a barrage of shots at Formaggio, who is at a disadvantage due to the car's cramped interior. When Aerosmith fires a bomb, Formaggio uses his Stand's power to shrink and escape. Meanwhile, Narancia is kicking the car, yelling at Formaggio, when he suddenly realizes that Formaggio isn't there. Formaggio uses this to his advantage and slips into Narancia's back pocket, happy to let Narancia search for him. When Narancia looks around, he notices people gathering to see what all the commotion is about and decides to summon his Stand again. As he looks around for his knife, he realizes he's no longer bleeding from the cut Little Foot gave him. He stumbles across a knife, but realizes it's too big to be his, and then notices that his shoe isn't there, but there's one that's far too big, leading him to wonder where they've gone. He gets into the car, only to realize the seat is too big and he can't reach the pedals. Jumping, Narancia is left thinking he got into the wrong car when he finally realizes he's shrinking because of Formaggio's posture.

Narancia searches for Formaggio before contacting Bucciarati to tell him that people are after Trish. He heads to a store with pay phones inside, only to realize he's too light to trigger the weight-based sensors on the automatic doors. Struggling to activate the sensors and get inside, Narancia calls Aerosmith to break down the doors and shoots one of the pay phones so he can get coins of the right size to make the call. Narancia climbs onto another pay phone and dials the number, but then realizes the phone line is down. He curses at Formaggio and looks around, summoning Aerosmith to find him. Formaggio hides in Narancia's pocket, but is then surprised when Narancia finds him. Narancia has Aerosmith shoot Formaggio, only for Formaggio to ask Little Foots to shrink a feather back to its normal size, blasting Formaggio into the air and safely away. From there,

Formaggio realizes Aerosmith is still tracking him and tries to escape, eventually reaching a sewer grate. He soon realizes Aerosmith is tracking him by the carbon dioxide he exhales and tries to flee by clinging to one of the many rats in the sewer. However, Narancia notices that one of the rats is breathing more heavily than the others because it's carrying Formaggio's weight and shoots it, effectively wounding Formaggio. Unfortunately, due to Narancia's shrinking size, Aerosmith's attack wasn't enough to kill Formaggio, who reverted to his full size to save himself. Enraged, Narancia decides he needs to hide before resuming his attack.

Stepping onto the sidewalk, Narancia runs into an alley. He's cornered by a cat, but uses Aerosmith to quickly scare it away. When he reaches the alley and climbs onto a stack of bottles, Narancia finds himself being washed over by the bottles as a full-size Formaggio pours a can of beer over him. Formaggio then steps on Narancia and demands to know where Trish is. Narancia refuses, and Formaggio has a flashback to the fate that befell two members of his group. He becomes enraged, retrieving a spider he found in the sewers and threatening Narancia with it. Narancia tries to shoot him with Aerosmith, but Formaggio uses a Little Foot to grab Aerosmith, then forces Narancia onto the bottle with the spider. Formaggio insists that Narancia tell him where Trish is, stating that he doesn't want to see Narancia devoured by the spider. Narancia refuses and attacks the spider, stabbing it with a shard of glass, only to realize that the spider had attached some straps to him. The spider kills Narancia and begins to wrap itself around him. Formaggio notices something had fallen out of Narancia's pocket earlier and examines it, realizing it's a map leading to the Bucciarati team's hideout. Formaggio laughs when he discovers Narancia marked all the paths, realizing he simply has to follow them in reverse.

When Formaggio decides to leave Narancia to die, Narancia reminds him of Aerosmith's ability to track carbon dioxide and reveals that he had drilled a hole in the gas tank of a nearby car; he was waiting for it to burst into flames. Formaggio turns around just in time for the car to explode, setting it ablaze and allowing Narancia to return to his normal size. Now that Narancia is back to normal, Formaggio uses his own blood in conjunction with shrinking to extinguish the fire on his body and escape. Because the car is in a state of collision, Narancia cannot locate him on radar. Despite this, he states that since he cannot track Formaggio, he will only make the fire grow to prevent his escape, and Aerosmith also fires at all the cars on the street. With nowhere left to run or hide, Formaggio returns to his normal size, but he is badly burned and decides to kill Narancia outright. He states that because they are so close, Little Feet has the advantage due to his greater speed. Both summon their Stands and attack, but Aerosmith surprises Formaggio by being the faster Stand and fires at Little Foot's vital points. As Formaggio falls, he uses his last words to tell Narancia that things will be harder for him and everyone else. Narancia calls Aerosmith, only to realize he had failed his mission because all the money and supplies had been burned.
