Qin Shi Huang

Record of Ragnarok (Shuumatsu no Valkyrie) tells the story of an apocalyptic tournament where 13 gods from different mythologies face off against 13 of the most powerful humans in history to decide humanity's extinction or salvation. Faced with the divine decision to destroy humanity, the valkyrie Brunhilde proposes Ragnarok (the final battle), where humans, using divine weapons (Volund) created by the valkyries, fight for survival.

Key details of the anime:
Premise: The gods meet every 1000 years to decide the fate of humanity, and this time they vote for its total destruction.

The Tournament: It consists of 13 individual death matches. The faction that gets 7 wins first wins.

Combat: The fights are intense and spectacular, focusing on action and brute force.

Humans (Einherjar): These include historical and legendary figures such as Adam, Lü Bu, Kojiro Sasaki, Nikola Tesla, and Jack the Ripper.

Gods: These include figures such as Zeus, Thor, Poseidon, Shiva, and Buddha.

The Volund: It is the key for humans to be able to harm the gods, turning a valkyrie into a specific weapon for each fighter.

Humans return to fight, but under the guidance of Brunhilde, sister of the 12 Valkyries, who resurrects humans for the next battle, returning their souls with bodies in this twisted war and entertainment for the gods.

Allies and Family: Chun Yan
At first, Ying Zheng was afraid of Chun Yan, believing her to be just as vile and hateful as everyone else he had encountered. Because of this, he maintained his forced smile, much to his own confusion. However, one day, upon learning of his mirror-touch synesthesia, Chun Yan began to empathize with him. She told him to stop smiling and express his hatred and sadness like any other child. Ying Zheng initially refused, convinced he was a cursed child, but after Chun Yan assured him that his condition was not a curse, he finally wept with rage and sorrow, expressing his true emotions for the first time. Ying Zheng was pleased when Chun Yan blindfolded him, and their relationship blossomed into that of a mother and son. Upon returning to Qin, Ying begged Chun Yan to accompany him, but bandits interrupted their conversation. Ying Zheng tried to fight them, but Chun Yan pushed him aside, wanting to protect him. He watched in horror as the bandits mortally wounded Chun Yan, and held her in his arms in her final moments. As she died, she called him mother, reminding him of her deceased son, Chun Ou. Ying Zheng promised his adoptive mother that he would become the greatest king, and he drew inspiration from the clothes she wore to dress as a king. This promise was his greatest motivation in battle.

Alvitr: At first, Qin Shi Huang didn't seem to care much for Alvitr, refusing to practice Völundr with her and wandering off into the arena. When they met again, a now angry Alvitr refused to practice with him because he had abandoned her. Qin Shi Huang then charmed her, forming a Völundr with her. After Qin Shi Huang lost a large portion of his shoulder guards, he asked Alvitr if she was alright, showing genuine concern for her health. Qin Shi Huang valued Alvitr's health and even referred to her as "My youthful-looking young lady."

Martial Arts Master: Qin Shi Huang is a highly skilled martial artist. During his confrontation with Chiyou, he managed to create and master his own martial arts style, derived from five fighting styles he learned from his adoptive mother, Chunyan. Thanks to this style, Qin Shi Huang has access to a wide variety of techniques that he can use to gain an advantage over his opponents.

Master of hand-to-hand combat: Qin Shi Huang has been learning and practicing martial arts since the age of seven. He was able to defeat beings like Chiyou, a "Demon God of War," using only his own body. He can also face the King of Helheim himself with his unarmed combat skills.
Air Bullet Projection: Qin Shi Huang can create air bullets capable of weakening his opponents' attacks and shattering their defenses by targeting specific points on their bodies. He is skilled enough to aim these air bullets even while dodging and attacking his enemy, requiring immense precision. Because they are made of air, these blasts are virtually invisible, making them very difficult to dodge or block, and even after impacting the target, they will not be noticed until they feel their debilitating effects.
Master swordsman: In addition to his prowess in hand-to-hand combat, Qin Shi Huang also wields the sword with great skill. One of the five fighting styles that comprise his martial art focuses exclusively on swordsmanship. Thanks to his mastery of the sword, Qin Shi Huang was able to defeat and kill Hades.

Indomitable Will: Qin Shi Huang has demonstrated immense willpower. He was able to survive countless battles, all while sensing the negative emotions of those around him. He never wavered in his battle against Hades, even after losing an arm and two fingers. Upon first meeting Chiyou, the Demon God praised his courage, stating that all previous kings would tremble at the mere sight of his demonic appearance.

Superior charisma: As the founder of the Qin dynasty and the first emperor to unify China, Qin Shi Huang possessed immense charisma. Numerous people, including other emperors, respected him. Furthermore, he was able to lead and inspire his soldiers, which enabled him to quickly conquer and overthrow the Six Kingdoms of the Warring States.

Qin Shi Huang sensed people's malice due to his condition. Mirror tactile synesthesia : a condition Qin Shi Huang was born with. It is the ability to feel the sensations of others through visual perception. For example, if you see someone touch their cheek, you feel as if they are touching yours. The exact symptoms vary greatly among those affected. In Qin Shi Huang's case, whenever he saw someone injured, he suffered the same injury himself, but in reverse. As the son of a high-ranking nobleman, born and raised in enemy territory, he was constantly exposed to the intense hatred of those around him. As a result, Qin Shi Huang's mirror tactile synesthesia eventually transcended the human level, reaching the point where he was injured simply by people's negative emotions, which appeared on his body as burn marks. This condition is the reason Qin Shi Huang is considered the "most cursed prince in history." However, he himself states that it is thanks to this ability that he is the most suitable to be king, because it allowed him to feel the pain of others.

Qin Shi Huang is a man of average height, comparable to Jack the Ripper in his physical build. He has a muscular physique and broad shoulders. He has black hair with a red streak on the right side of his face, shaved sides, and black eyes with dilated white pupils.

Qin Shi Huang wears an elaborate, off-the-shoulder robe, similar to those worn by Chinese empresses. He also wears a blindfold decorated with a pattern that covers his eyes. He has two centipede tattoos: one on his right cheek, descending vertically from his right eye (covered by the blindfold); and another on his back. He wears nail protectors on the middle and index fingers of his right hand, as well as on the ring, middle, and index fingers of his left hand.

CLOTHES

1. Blindfold: A blindfold decorated with a pattern. His adoptive mother gave it to him to partially obscure his vision, preventing his specular tactile synesthesia from activating, but allowing him to see people's silhouettes. After years of using this blindfold, Qin Shi Huang has been able to fight without difficulty, despite having his eyes covered. By removing the blindfold, Qin Shi Huang can see the flow of vital energy (Chi) in people.

2. Shoulder Pad of the Divine Embrace (Shinra Kaishū): A divine weapon in the form of shoulder pads and armor on arms and hands, provided by the Völundr of the tenth valkyrie, grants incredible defensive strength while maximizing the full potential of Qin Shi Huang's martial arts.

3. Goujian Sword of the First Emperor (Shikō Kōsenken): The power of Alvitr's name is "Defender of Armies." This refers to having the greatest defense, which is also an offense. When Alvitr decides to give Qin Shi Huang all his power, Qin Shi Huang can modify the Shoulder Pad of the Divine Embrace into the Goujian Sword of the First Emperor, which he can use in melee combat.

Qin Shi Huang demonstrates from the beginning that he does not fear the gods.
Qin Shi Huang appears to be very arrogant. When he accidentally ended up in one of the gods' VIP rooms, Qin Shi Huang brazenly told Ares and Hermes to grovel before him, claiming that wherever he sat was his throne. Believing that the path is wherever he leads, Qin Shi Huang often ignores what others tell him and instead simply does as he pleases, such as when he disregarded Brunhilde's order to remain in her waiting room or didn't even bother to practice Völundr with Alvitr before his rounds.

Above all else, Qin Shi Huang is immensely proud of his rank as the First Emperor of China. He did not believe any of the kings of China who preceded him were truly kings because they submitted to Chiyou out of fear, and he had no qualms about antagonizing the Demon God, smiling in his presence without flinching, deliberately feeding him a soldier made of earth, and not hesitating to fight the supposed god. At the beginning of his battle against Hades, Qin Shi Huang looked down on him with disdain and proudly declared that he was the only one who could truly be king in this world. Despite this insistence, Qin Shi Huang has shown that he will recognize someone as king if they prove their worth. After Hades first defeated him, Qin Shi Huang began referring to him as "King of Helheim" and continued to address him in that manner. Qin Shi Huang is pleased when Hades calls him magnificent.

Despite his demeanor, Qin Shi Huang has shown that he gets along well with people he likes. He asked Hermes his name after the god served him a delicious mead; he showed concern and apologized to Alvitr when she was injured because of him; and he demonstrated immense respect and camaraderie with Hades, to the point of considering him a friend in the end.

He may show egocentrism and a certain narcissism, but once you earn his respect, he won't forget you.

Qin Shi Huang is the representative of Humanity in the seventh round of Ragnarok, facing Hades.

His real name is "Ying Zheng," the son of a high-ranking Qin aristocrat who was held hostage in enemy Zhao territory. At the age of two, he was abandoned by his parents and the king of his father's homeland. Ying Zheng grew up alone in enemy territory, surrounded by people who despised him for a mass murder incident committed by Qin against Zhao before his birth.

When Ying Zheng was nine years old, the king and crown prince of Qin died, leaving his father as the new king. Overnight, Ying Zheng became crown prince. At the age of twelve, he ascended the throne and ended the period of interkingdom warfare, eventually becoming the first emperor to unify and rule all of China. Thus, he became the founder of the Qin dynasty and was known as Qin Shi Huang or "Shi Huang Di" (Shikōtei), a title that literally means "First Emperor of Qin."
