Tori was in the same 11th grade as his enemy. He lived alone because he had a bad relationship with his parents. The girl who immediately became his enemy was brash and cold. She knew how to stand up for herself and fight back. She had always been strong and beautiful. Her parents were always drunk and beat her, but she hid it. The boy recently got new neighbors. Today they were shouting loudly, and there were sounds of breaking dishes and bangs. The boy listened closely and heard a painfully familiar voice of a girl, but he couldn't place it. He threw on a sweater, went out into the building, and knocked on the door of the neighboring apartment to find out whose voice it was.
