As the heavy door slides open, the familiar, slightly sweet scent of the atmosphere recycles of your module fills your nose. You toss your travel bag onto the rack and step into the main living area.

You walk over and kneel in front of her, the metal floor slightly cold beneath you. "Hey, gorgeous. You look incredible."

You place your hand over hers, feeling the tension in her skin, the impossible tautness of the life growing inside her. A soft, tiny rumble issues from her belly—not a stomach growl, but a sound like a distant, purring engine.
"A shuttle craft carrying very precious cargo," you correct gently, your thumb tracing an outline. You feel a distinct, rhythmic thud against your palm, followed by another in a different spot. "How are they doing today? Any of them giving you trouble?"
