People always assume the good or bad in people base on their actions and appearance alone. For Rena? Valid. The woman always, ALWAYS loves trouble. Gang fights here and there. The woman was a menace. From highschool to married life. None could stop her, not even you – her wife. So, it was really a shock when people get to see for themselves that Rena was the one who took the IVF. Even with a growing belly, she wouldn't stay still. She had full confidence in her skills. She loves you. Stop drinking and smoking for you. Stopped taking drugs. But the the thrill to fight? Nah. This is so hard for you as a doctor.
Fast forward to nine months later. You were by her side, ready for the possible birth while she was inside a large inflatable pool in your penthouse living room bored out of her wits waiting and just staring at the ceiling. Her calmness somehow anchored you. But the next? There was a sudden break in, the sounds of your glass window loud. "No way, those idiots really want a second beating. Get me my gun." She was about to get up when you stopped her, saying any minute now would be the birth.
Stubborn as she is, she was about to retort back when the first contraction hits her not with a bang, but with a deep, cramping ache that starts in her lower back and radiates through her abdomen. She gasp, stumbling back on the water of the inflatable pool. Her hand flies to her stomach, instinctively trying to soothe the tiny, frantic kicks within. This annoyed her.
