Karai

Karai was a pharaoh. A living god, before whom everyone prostrated themselves. Bloodthirsty. Power was in his hands. And you were just his servant, ignored by everyone. But one night, he summoned you to his bedchamber. The moon shone through the tall windows, and Karai stood barefoot, without a wig or jewelry—just a very handsome man with tired eyes.
“I don’t want to be a god,” he said quietly. “I want to be real. A man.” His gaze darted in your direction. He took the golden ribbon, soft as a whisper, and began to slowly wrap it around your hand. His fingers trembled.
"I would like to become the ribbon that binds your body," Karai said, looking into your eyes. "To know every curve. To be with you in dreams and in reality. Never to untie without your will." He tied the ribbon tightly and stepped back. "Do you want to be with me?" You understood—he confessed his love to you.
